Barbara Streisand has got to just give it up, and go slink herself away into obscurity. Take a look at her letter to the Los Angeles Times, and see if you can spot the funny part:
Dear Mr. Martinez,
This letter is to inform you that I am canceling my subscription to the LA Times, and here is the reason why:
Boo Hoo Hoo Babs. I'm sure the paper is wondering whatever they will do without your endorsement.
The greater Southern California community is one that not only proudly embraces its diversity but demands it. Your publisher's decision to fire Robert Scheer is a great disservice to the spirit of our community.
I'm almost embarrassed for you in seeing the LA Times being referred to as the "Chicago LA Times" on the myriad of internet sites I've visited in the last few days.
She took a few minutes away from the botox and liposuction pages.
It seems, however, an aptly designated epithet, representing the feeling among many of your readers that your new leadership, especially that of Jeff Johnson, is entirely out of touch with them and their desire to be exposed to views that stretch them beyond their own paradigms.
Pure Classic, Babs.
So although the number of contributors to your op-ed pages may have increased, in firing Robert Sheer and putting Jonah Goldberg in his place, the gamut of voices has undeniably been diluted, and I suspect this may ultimately decrease the number of readers of those same pages.
Increasing the point of views is a bad thing when they dilute the paradigms that Babs feels comfortable reading. Stretch Babs?
In light of the obvious step away from the principals of journalistic integrity, which would dictate that journalists be journalists, editors be editors and accountants be accountants, I am now forced to carefully reconsider which sources can be trusted to provide me with accurate, unbiased news and forthright opinions. Your new columnist, Jonah Goldberg, will not be one of those sources.
In other words, he may not hold her political beliefs. It never ceases to amaze me how people claim bias when something doesn't agree with their viewpoint, but will call it fair when a political hack writes to every whim that delights their ears no matter how prejudiced the auther was before taking on the article. That goes for Repubs and Dems alike. For good examples take a look at news sites like Newsmax and Raw Story. The places where the far left and right go for "real news". There are many more. The hilarious thing is when they claim themselves as "alternative news", and people still take them seriously anyways. But I obloviate. Back to Babs:
Robert Scheer's column, with its often singular voice of dissent and groundbreaking expositional content, has been among the most notable features that have sustained my interest in subscribing to the LA Times for many years now. Apparently, previous leadership at the LA Times had no trouble recognizing Mr. Scheer's journalistic prowess in that they nominated him for the Pulitzer Prize. My greatest fear is that the underlying reason for Mr. Scheer's termination is part of a larger trend toward the corporatization of our media, a trend that we, as American citizens, must fervently battle for the sake of our swiftly diminishing free press.
Oh no! The mom and pop operation L.A. Times might be infiltrated by corporatists? Say it isn't so Babs! Say it isn't so!
Sincerely,
Barbra Streisand

This old washed up hag has the gall to proclaim "It seems, however, an aptly designated epithet, representing the feeling among many of your readers that your new leadership, especially that of Jeff Johnson, is entirely out of touch with them and their desire to be exposed to views that stretch them beyond their own paradigms", and then proceed to whine and bitch that she doesn't like the new writers views? Stupidity abounds from Streisand, as well as sheer evilness and elitism. People should be stretched to think in new ways that Streisand approves of, is what she should have said. Fuck you Babs. Go wrap yourself back up in your Rolls Royces, Caviar, and Mansions tiny world, and don't try to dictate who is and isn't appropriate for showing us different paradigms of thinking. It's time for your geritol. Goodbye and STFU Babs, and don't worry that we will miss you, becuase we won't.
